The starting pitchers for Game 1 of the 2007 World Series have been announced.
Starting for the Boston Red Sox will be 27 year old Josh Beckett. Josh Beckett won 20 games this year, with an ERA of 3.27. Beckett was just named the American League Championship Series MVP and is a candidate for the Cy Young Award.
Pitching for the Colorado Rockies will be 26 year old Jeff Francis. Coming in at 6'5", Francis can be a presence on the mound. With 17 wins and a 4.22 ERA, Jeff Francis doesn't have quite the stats of Josh Beckett, but it will be a good matchup.
Game 1 of the 2007 World Series starts at 8:00pm Eastern Time on Fox. The game will be broadcast live from Fenway Park in Boston, MA.
